Balıkesir University Faculty of Science and Letters and the Balıkesir Region Cultural Research and Application Center participated in the “Turkish Epics Balıkesir Provincial Panel” organized within the scope of the “I Read, I Interpret Project” conducted by the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Secondary Education. The program was hosted by İstanbulluoğlu Social Sciences High School.
The panel highlighted the interpretation, analysis, and re-evaluation of epics—one of the fundamental building blocks of Turkish culture—by young people. The students’ high level of knowledge, strong analytical skills, and motivation were considered promising for the transmission of cultural heritage to future generations. It was stated that similar events on Turkish epics are planned to be organized within Balıkesir University in the coming period, in order to reach a wider audience in an academic environment. All students and teachers who contributed to the preservation and continuation of cultural memory were thanked.
